Where to Find Religious Christian Nativity Décor, Christmas Ornaments and Gifts

It's the Reason for the Season!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).

The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness.

Our holiday decorations at The Village Country Store are authentic artisan handmade fair trade Christmas tree ornaments and nativities.

What more beautiful way is there than to share your love of Christ during this Holiday Season than to purchase Christmas décor and gifts that bless the world and give back?   When you decorate your home with fair trade décor or purchase fair trade gifts, your purchases support an artisan to consumer process which brings dignity to individuals and their communities from developing countries as they struggle for medical, educational and economical independence.

And it is in this spirit of the gift that keeps on giving, that I would like to share with you a story about my dear friend, LeeAnne McCoy, founder of Change The World By How You Shop.

LeeAnne works tirelessly promoting and educating others about fair trade. She created for us the most amazing and comprehensive Fair Trade Christian Gifts Guide and also a Handcrafted and Fair Trade Nativities Décor Guide!

One of my favorite fun groups on Facebook that I participate in; 'I Just Love to Decorate', had a member write in recently that she hardly sees religious décor in the stores anymore and that as a Christian woman, this made her sad. So, I dashed off a quick 'help me' plea to LeeAnne and she followed up within hours with the guides mentioned above. That is the spirit of Christmas. That is the spirit of Love. That is the spirit of Giving.

I told LeeAnne I was going to write this blog to let others know where to find religious holiday décor and I asked LeeAnne if there were any shops dear to her heart which she wanted me to specifically mention?  "Yes", she said: "Women of Hope Guatemala and Lucuma Designs

"Women of Hope is a mission-based brand offering opportunities for business, education and discipleship to women in Guatemala.  The holiday bazaars where they normally sell their beautiful handcrafted ornaments and nativities were mostly cancelled this year."

"Lucuma Designs  is a fair trade brand in Peru that primarily makes nativities, but is really struggling because most of their sales were wholesale to brick and mortar shops...COVID hit them hard!"

In this season of giving, why not brighten both our holiday and our world by purchasing fair trade decorations which shine the light and love of Jesus on our brothers and sisters around the world!

Thank you so much for visiting our store. We hope the guides help you into creating a Blessed Giving Christmas this Holiday!  And thank you too for your continued support of the fair trade movement! - The Village Country Store - Michele/Shopkeeper
